Fortuna has five runners on Saturday 1st May – one in NZ and four in Singapore
New Zealand
Leaderboard runs in the Rating 74 2400m event (race 8 at 4:12 pm) – an impressive last start winner at Matamata two weeks ago, he steps up in trip here – allocated 61.5 kg, we have elected to claim with stable apprentice Joe Kamaruddin taking the ride and taking 3 kg off his back – drawn out in barrier 12 this won’t be an issue as he gets back in the running. First time at this trip in New Zealand but he is ready for it and presents as a top three chance in this race
Singapore
Red Rover resumes in the Class 4 1100m Polytrack (race 3 at 5 pm NZ time) and will be ridden by premiership leading jockey Marc Lerner from barrier one – it has been a long time between drinks for this horse, but he did win three in a row in 2019 – has had no favours since due to a variety of events – back to class 4 here, perfect drawer, top rider – gets his opportunity to atone and can feature if back to his best
Entertainer races in the Class 4 1100m Polytrack (race 10 at 8:30pm) – this horse has taken all before him winning his last three Singapore starts in a row – loves to lead and has drawn barrier one here – will be ridden by Singapore No 3 rider Louis Beuzelin. Loves this trip, loves the surface, top rider aboard and barrier one – not many win 4 in a row but presents as a very strong winning chance
Federation runs in the Class 3 1400m Turf (race 11 at 9pm) – drawn wide last time this grade, he had a little luck in the running but finished midfield beaten just over 4 lengths gets his chance here up in trip to 1400 from a good midfield draw. Champion rider Vlad Duric is in the saddle and is a good each way chance in this racei
Hadeer is in the Class 4 1200m Polytrack (race 12 at 9.30pm) – ran a reasonable race on resuming two weeks ago and is fitter for that. Will be ridden by premiership leading jockey Marc Lerner from Barrier 11 – gets his chance here but will need luck from the draw
